·       “Journaling Workshop for Anxiety and Stress” at Torrance Memorial Medical Center’s Hunt Cancer Center (HCC).
This workshop will be like those I’ve held at Canyon Ranch resorts (but without the Canyon Ranch $1,300+ day fee! ) It’s held every Wednesday in September 1 p.m. – 2 p.m. There are only 2 spots left. Each session is just $25, and guests receive a hard copy of my journal: The Art of Flow: Mindful Mini Meditations (digital copies are now on sale BTW for only $2.99 BUY HERE!). Guests also receive journal prompts to explore between sessions and learn powerful breath work exercises to trigger parasympathetic nervous system relief. Mini meditations and mantras are also given to strengthen focus on the present moment and release triggers that amp up stress and anxiety.  Call 310-750-3300 to sign up.

·      Three more books are evolving; please send good Juju!
Three is my number, and I’m having so much fun with these books! I adore my agent Lisa Hagan, owner of Lisa Hagan Books and Lisa Hagan Literary . A proposal is out with a publisher right now for a series that is near and dear to my heart… and, since waiting around is not my forte, I’m at work on more inspired books—one I can’t discuss yet but am completely obsessed — think meditative art + intuitive writing to tune in to your natural essence. I’m also creating a new journal to ignite powerful, and lasting healing through awareness. Look for upcoming thought-provoking journal prompts on my socials designed to create mindful pauses within your hectic day. Follow me! ·      My longevity column “Living Proof”
Check out Advantage Magazine, for more of my health & wellness articles—including this month’s cover article, “Travel Well at Any Age.”  My longevity column, “Living Proof,” is now super popular and so much fun! You won’t find typical longevity advice here, ya’ll—as many healthy seniors I choose to profile don’t follow strict diets or regular exercise routines. (But isn’t that refreshing?!) What they do have in common is a positive mindset, an open and forgiving heart, a sense of humor, resilience, faith, gratitude, intuitive awareness and—the most important aspect—a daring to follow their dreams and passions! This column is proof of the power of mindset. I am convinced that journaling to heal, forgive, let go of what doesn’t serve, and to garner confidence and belief in dreams is medicine for your soul. You’ll LOVE my next healthy senior: Annette Warren—ghost singer to the stars (including Ava Gardner and Lucille Ball). This 104-year-young jazz singer and pianist is funny, edgy, and mentally sharp. She sings and plays piano daily and loves to say she never follows the rules but always follows her heart.

·      Muun Chi wellness event:
I am honored to be a guest practitioner Sunday, October 4th at Muun Chi’s FREE wellness event. If you don’t know Muun Chiof Redondo Beach – it’s time you did! Manette McDermott is a gift to this world and is healing thousands—one gut at a time. (Not from Cali? Go to her site for recipes and wellness news!) Muun Chi is an inviting community where all are welcome, like treasured guests. At the event, expect hugs, free food & drink (that’s yummy and good for your gut) and free mini sessions with experts of acupuncture, reiki, & therapeutic yoga (where you’ll try mini yoga breaks to aid tight muscles, balance, and lymph flow- from me!)

·      Private therapeutic yoga & wellness sessions:Did you know that I am trained in pre-natal and therapeutic yoga—both I’ve taught at Torrance Memorial Medical Center for 14 years? I’m also trained in Hatha, Vinyasa, hot and restorative yoga—as well as breath work, chakra alignment, chanting, intuitive guidance, and meditation. Many don’t realize that I offer a wide scope of services as I’ve also been a health and wellness journalist for 20+ years and I’ve written about cancer prevention, therapy, and treatment innovations for 30 years—even launching The American Cancer Society’s “webzine” back in the day. I’ve also worked as a Parenting & Pregnancy editor for Meredith Corp. (creating their online pregnancy calendar and weekly menus), and as editor of How to Survive Your Pregnancy & How to Survive Your Baby’s First Year (by Hundreds of Heads Books). For 12 years, I was a regular contributor to Fit Pregnancy magazine. I’m a nutrition nut and have written about diet and healthy menus for many publications, including Parents and Parenting magazines, as well as interviewed top experts in the fields of nutrition and functional fitness and medicine, and physical therapy, like this article “How to Repair Low Back Pain” for Canyon Ranch’s Well-Stated Blog.  Private wellness & yoga sessions are $200 for an individual private / $150 each for a 5 pack. Please get in touch with any questions.

Private client examples & testimonials:

I recently worked for 8.5 months with a high-risk, pregnant gal under extreme stress and anxiety due to an abnormal umbilical cord position, and abdominal surgeries that could hinder placenta expansion. I created tailored mini yoga, meditation, and breath work breaks (that were easy for her to do throughout the week between our sessions), as well as weekly essential oil scents to aid in stress relief and nausea, mantras to aid in boundary creation and positive expectation, and provided my low-sugar smoothies to add in gut health, mood, hydration, digestion and elimination, as well as provide vital nutrients and calcium. I’m happy to say, her baby girl was delivered this week—fully healthy. Both mom and baby are doing great!  “Thank you for all that you have done for me and our family! I don’t know what I’d have done without you!” ~ Laura of W. Los Angeles.

- Another client is recovering from stroke. I noticed spine, neck, and shoulder misalignment that hindered balance and mobility. When his wife told me his MD thought surgery may be necessary, I suggested that we open tight fascia and work on alignment in a relaxed setting that incorporates breath work, to see if that created ease and space for natural alignment to begin.  I created flowing, gentle postures that also fostered left brain-right brain connection and opened tight fascia around his entire spine — from neck to coccyx — as well as shoulders, collarbones, and neck. We did each session a relaxed spot outside (in the shade) and mostly seated. We ended in a guided mini meditation that included energy work and essential oils to foster focus on gratitude and strength. I’m happy to say that Jim is walking without much assistance and recently went to the beach with his wife to watch the sunset!   “We went to the neurologist this morning and she is wonderfully holistic. Jim commented that the doctor said the same things you did about the cervical spine, scoliosis, and posture. She even wants us to order a soft cervical collar! See? I told you that you make a difference! You re spot on for Jim ! ~ Cindy, of Lomita, Calif.

Yoga class offerings for Fall:
- Wednesdays 5 p.m. VIRTUAL! Some of you asked. I listened! This virtual class can be done anytime and in the privacy of home. I love that my east coast friends and my Ausie buddies can attend. And if you think a virtual class can’t be inspiring, check out the amazing note I received from a student! Focus on gratitude and setting heart-felt intentions are powerful! We do this in every class, btw. It’s also recorded, so attend live, or do it remotely that week! This is a restorative class that’s easy on the joints, & for all fitness levels. Poses are held longer to aid in opening tight fascia points and promote lymph flow. It will foster better alignment, balance, posture, injury prevention and repair. It will increase flexibility, lower stress, better sleep, boost immunity, bolster confidence, gratitude, intention-setting, relax tight hips, back, neck, wrists and hamstrings. Mat, block, strap needed. $10 a class or $80 for a 10-class pack. Questions? Email laurakroe333@gmail.com . To sign up, Venmo @Laura-Stevens-78. A zoom link is sent each Wed. morning. “Hi Laura, I just want to say a big thank you! We did virtual yoga classes a while ago and that sparked a flame within me. I am just about to finish my 200HR YTT here in Australia. Once I get my certification, I will be hosting yoga classes at the Holiday Resort I run and all funds I receive from that will go towards building a school for underprivileged children in rural Sri Lanka . Thanks for lighting the flame! ~ Garry Sullivan @thebarefootmanager “ To support Garry’s classes & school, go to: https://simplybarefoot.com.au/

- Fridays 6:30 p.m. Candlelight YIN at West Coast Sweat, Hermosa Beach. This non-heated, therapeutic class fosters lymphatic flow, circulation, stress relief, and opens fascia around hips, shoulders, and all regions of your back. Expect a sweet community and a yoga high afterwards— to help you slide into your weekend feeling AMAZING . Another bonus? Free parking on Pier Ave.! So, if you want to go out after class, keep your car in the lot, enjoy a popular restaurant/bar in Hermosa Beach, you don’t pay for parking-just sayin. Life is good. “I look forward to your Yin every week! I just adore it!” ~ Carol, Hermosa Beach. “I love this class! It’s helped me in so many ways. I adore your meditation book too. Thank you!” ~ Gail, El Segundo.
